The design workshop was led by Ann-Marie Powell, a well-known British gardener and landscape designer, for years involved in the design and dissemination of plant knowledge. Participants learned about the history of English gardens, including their formal and informal arrangements. They learned how to create modern urban arrangements based on traditional rural patterns. While working on the project, they drew up a garden plan, an initial selection of materials and accessories, along with the concept of connecting it to the home interior and immediate surroundings. Much attention was also paid to the principles of composition and selection of plants, to ensure the garden remains attractive throughout the season.
